PSC's IR filters are used in remote control units, security systems, sensors, barcode readers, eye recognition scanners, number plate recognition systems (ANPR), IR cameras and other areas where there is a need to exclude visible light.
Properties of Solaris™ IR S306
Acrylic is the most suitable base material for the transmission of light in the near-infrared (NIR) region. Ever since the founding of the company PSC has specialized in this area and today we are a leading developer and producer of customized infrared (IR) filters.
The NIR filter absorbs the entire visible spectrum and ultraviolet light and delivers maximum transmittance in the near-infrared range from 800 to approx. 2000 nm.
SolarisTM IR 306 can be processed and customized according to application specific demands.
Choosing the right surface treatment is often the key to the optimum solution. With surface treatments it is possible to add features like scratch, abrasion & chemical resistance. Click here to read more about these surface treatments.
Optimized anti-reflective (AR) coating for IR filters
To obtain extra high performance, PSC offers a broadband AR optimized Solaris™ IR 306 for the NIR range. This means that the total transmittance is improved to almost 100 % in the NIR range!
- Light transmittance up to 96 % from 800 - 2000 nm compared to transparent acrylic.
- Thickness from 0.5 mm.
- Tolerances down to +/- 0.1 mm.
- Steep cut-on filter properties.
- Dimensions up to 2000 x 3000 mm.
