Rohde & Schwarz is a leading manufacturer of test and measurement equipment in many different industries.
Their challenge was to find a cover glass solution for their new device.
Due to the highly detailed information on the screen, they needed a cover glass with flawless optical quality and the highest possible transmission for maximum readability.
Furthermore, the equipment also had to be EMI shielded to defer incoming and outgoing electromagnetic transmission to prevent signal interference.
To meet the demands of such a device, we developed a solution based on our Solaris™ Shield cover glass with an embedded stainless steel mesh of 100 opi. To avoid moiré, the mesh is rotated at a 30-degree angle.
Solaris™ Shield offers great shielding and maximum readability for EMI-shielded devices with a light transmittance of approximately 80%.
In addition, a silver busbar is applied to secure proper electrical contact between the display window and the cabinet. A Fine Mat™ surface treatment is added to prevent distracting light reflections.
