This is a matte surface treatment for reducing glare on the cover glass. Fine Mat™ A1 can be used on acrylic and polycarbonate filters (including EMI shielding).
Fine Mat™️ is specifically developed to produce an exclusive-looking matte surface that dramatically reduces glare and still has excellent optical performance. This is because the cover glass retains its light transmission despite the anti-glare surface treatment, depending on which base material it is applied on.
The coating process creates a unique surface structure consisting of lens-shaped microparticles. This structure scatters light and significantly reduces glare. Despite its anti-glare properties, haze is still low, and light emitted from the display doesn’t get blurred, meaning it retains its image quality. Therefore, disturbing glare is significantly reduced with no loss in image quality from the underlying display.
It is especially suited for touchscreen applications since the extremely fine structure of the A1 solution means that Newton rings don’t appear when touching the touchscreen display.
Because of the abovementioned features, Fine Mat™ A1 is an excellent choice for touchscreen display applications requiring glare reduction.
Filters used in conditions with a lot of direct light, such as sunlight or overhead light sources indoors, can benefit from anti-glare surface treatments to improve the readability of the display.
Standard Format: Fine Mat™’s standard format is 1000x740mm, but it can be customized according to your specific demands.
Pencil Hardness: This solution has a pencil hardness of 3-4H but highly depends on the pencil hardness of the base material it is applied to. Final hardness is measured 48 hours after removing the protective film.
Variations of Fine Mat: It is worth noting that A1 is the finest anti-glare solution compared to the other Fine Mat™ options ranging from A1 to A5 – the latter being the most matte solution. A1 is our Anti-Newton grade solution, whereas A3 is suitable for high-resolution displays. A5, the most matte solution, is what we tend to recommend for digital signage applications. We also have Fine Mat™️ A2 and A4, which naturally fall between these options. Therefore, we can customize the anti-glare solution to match your display’s specific requirements.
